Metal Wall Tiles - Quick & Easy Installation

The following will walk the installer through the installation process for our metal tiles. Please refer to our Wall Tiles and Trim Installation Guide for instructions on using our XT-2000 Adhesive.

You can view and print these quick and easy instructions in Adobe PDF format, or view and print the more detailed installation brochure.

When installing tiles with the XT-2000 Adhesive use a 1/8 inch "V" Sawtooth Trowel. Allow the Adhesive to set for 20 to 30 minutes before installing tile.

When cutting the tiles with a wet saw be sure that the Metal Face is UP. No tile spacers are needed, however they may be used to space tiles as to fill a given area.

Caulk using a Siliconized Acrylic Latex Caulk (available at any home construction store) that is sanded for appearance of true grout. Non-sanded Caulk can also be used for a smooth appearance of the grout.

Cut the dispensing tip of the caulk at a 45 degree angle, and place in a Caulking Gun.

Dispense caulk in the "V" grove of the tile-- filling grove completely to the surface of the tile.

Remove any large deposits of the caulk with your finger.

Add an additional row of trim tiles between each row and column of squares to create this pattern. Picture it with the 1' squares replaced by speciality Rojo copper tiles.

Using a damp tile sponge wipe the caulk at a 45 degree. angle to the tiles, use very little pressure. Rinse sponge after every stroke.

Continue to sponge until only a slight glaze is left on the tile and there is no grout on the tile surface.

Let the caulk set up for at least 12 hours, then brake the glaze with a non abrasive pan scrubber and sponge clean.
