Expanded Metal

Standard Expanded Metal

Expanded Metal and Standard Expanded Metal, plus
many other products now available in Titanium.

Standard Expanded Metal or Regular Expanded Metal is a finished product, which is simultaneously slit and stretched by a press to form a single piece construction. Expanded Metal exhibits a high weight to strength ratio, and is often used to protect people or machines by stopping a specific size material from entering a specific area. All Metals such as Stainless Steel Alloys, Aluminum, Steel, Titanium, & Copper, can all be expanded for various uses like enclosures, support, protection, decoration or filtration. The charts below will help determine which product size and dimensions best suit the needs of your application.

Flattened Expanded Metal

Flattened Expanded Metal and
Standard Expanded Metal available in Titanium.

Flattened expanded metals are the same product as Standard Expanded Metals, but have been cold rolled by a flattening machine to give them a smooth flat surface. The Flattening reduces the thickness (gauge) of the material and bonds it down creating Flat Expanded Metal. As with the Standard Expanded Metal, this material is used in many fields such as Security, Power stations, Machine guards, and storage. Flattened expanded metal is available in Aluminum, Carbon Steel, Stainless Steel, Titanium and many other Alloys. See which item best fills your requirements.

Expanded Metal Grating and Mesh

Expanded metal grating or expanded metal mesh is the most practical and economical way to assure strength, safety, and a non-skid surface. Expanded metal grating is ideal for use on plant runways, working platforms, and catwalks, as it is easily cut into irregular shapes and can be installed quickly by welding or bolting. To select the proper metal mesh for your application consult the load and deflection tables below

If you are looking for a welded or woven mesh (wire cloth), please look at our wire mesh page.
